Dance Society
The Pei Hwa Dance Society has a long history of being exposed to Modern, Chinese and Malay Dance. It is our goal that in the 4 years of our dancers’ journey, they will explore various genres of dance (Modern / Chinese / Hip Hop / Jazz) in order to develop techniques that will empower them to be versatile performers on stage.
Many of our members join with little or no dance background. It is through the regular trainings and role modelling of our diligent and passionate dance leaders, and under the careful tutelage of our instructors, that each member of dance society improves and hones their dance skills. In Dance Society, we expose students to as many opportunities as possible where they participate in public performances such as PHiesta, compete at The Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) and go on learning journeys such as watching performances.
The CCA will enable our students to:
- Attain a good level of competency in terms of dance technique
- Develop and understand spatial and bodily movements
- Develop stage presence
- Apply their skills pertaining to dance and performance
- Demonstrate values of discipline, resilience, teamwork, passion for learning and excellence through dance and performance.

Student Testament
"I am so honoured to be part of dance society. This CCA has allowed me to nurture my dance skills and cultivate the leader within me. The memories I’ve made in the past few years has made my secondary school experience very memorable. It’s a privilege to work with such talented and passionate dancers, and I am proud to be in this CCA" Dance Captain, Bernice Tan
"I enjoy using body language to express my feelings such as through various dance movements. besides dancing, there are many skills that we get to pick up such as having stage presence and building confidence to perform in front of a large audience." Dance Captain, Chervyn Low
"Being in dance for these past 3 years has brought me immeasurable joy as I could connect with my peers through the world of dance. It has also allowed me to discover my hidden voice as I firmly believe that actions speak louder than words. With every leap, turn, and split on the dance floor, it conveys my emotions and unravels the story that I am performing." Dance Chairperson, Neo Yuxuan
